The Peace of Christ
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
Peace can seem like an impossible pursuit. Whether it’s the fighting without or fear within (2 Cor 7:5), peace is elusive. We live in a world of division, strife, and trials – and tragically, the church often looks the same.
Yet Jesus offers peace. In the Gospel of John, He encourages His disciples, saying, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27)
Join us at FG25 as we pursue the Peace of Christ together – exploring the peace we have with God and with one another.
FG25 KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Jeremy Meeks
Meeks is the Director of the Chicago Course on Preaching with the Charles Simeon Trust, a Pastor at Christ Church Chicago, and host of the Preachers Talk Podcast with 9Marks. He has previously served as a church planting missionary in Nicaragua.
Meeks has a Masters of Arts in Bioethics from Trinity Graduate School and a PhD in Theological Ethics from the University of Aberdeen.
Jeremy is married to Marjorie, and they have two children, Alexis and Jake.
Join us for the Pre-Conference Workshop!
All of scripture points to Jesus Christ. While we are convinced of this truth, it is often difficult to understand exactly how a particular scripture leads to Christ. And so, we are excited for Dr. Jim Hamilton to teach on Typology at our pre-conference workshop! Typology, we’ll see, applies to those gospel-shaped patterns and expectations that are ultimately fulfilled in Christ.

Jim Hamilton
Hamilton is Professor of Biblical Theology at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Senior Pastor of Kenwood Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky. He also is a host on the Bible Talk Podcast with 9Marks. He has written several books including God’s Glory in Salvation through Judgment, Typology-Understanding the Bible’s Promise-Shaped Patterns, and commentaries on the Psalms, John, and Revelation.
